2010:
When I moved out of my parents house and in with my future husband-to-be, I knew how to make 5 recipes. Tacos (from a flavor packet), spaghetti (from a jar), grilled cheese sandwiches, Hamburger Helper (not sure if this qualifies), and good ol' Sloppy Joes. Needless to say once I was away from my mom's home cooking and not doing any of my own home cooking, I put on 20 lbs almost over night! One day I finally got my act together and decided I needed to learn how to cook. I remember my mom always having Cooking Light magazine around the house so I set off in search of their website. Discovering Cooking Light was amazing for me. The recipes were easy, healthy, and delicious. Cooking Light posts all the nutritional content of a recipe on the recipe which is helpful to those of us who keep track of calories. And there are soooo many! Now, I can't imagine not cooking! Although you can find most of the recipes at their website, www.myrecipes.com, I have decided to share of few of my favorite recipes!
